Opened in the mid-19th century to connect the Valle di Ledro with the lake, the Strada del Ponale is a triumph of historic engineering, renowned for its airy tunnels and cliffside viewpoints over the blue waters of Trentino’s Lake Garda. The guided route delves into the historical events and Austro-Hungarian military fortifications of the Tagliata del Ponale, all while surrounded by lush Mediterranean flora.
