The Ancient Filò in the Mòcheni Valley: Tales, Legends, and Alpine Warmth in Fierozzo

The Ancient Filò in the Mòcheni Valley: Tales, Legends, and Alpine Warmth in Fierozzo
Until Wednesday, September 23, 2026, the community of Fierozzo is bringing back to life one of the most intimate traditions of the Alps: the Filò in the Mòcheni Valley.

Once an indispensable custom of autumn and winter evenings, the filò was a time for gathering together in the warm stube to spin wool, carve wood, and orally pass down the fairy tales, anecdotes, and folk songs of the German-speaking Mòcheno linguistic minority.

The event offers visitors an authentic immersion in the heart of Trentino’s identity roots, in a warm and welcoming atmosphere that is richly evocative.
