Autumn in Barbagia 2026: A Grand Journey Through the Cortes and the Flavours of the Island

Autumn in Barbagia 2026: A Grand Journey Through the Island's Courtyards and Flavours
The renowned Autunno in Barbagia festival returns to bring the Sardinian hinterland to life from 5 September to 13 December 2026, offering a rich itinerary through thirty-one charming mountain villages.

The initiative, coordinated by the Chamber of Commerce of Nuoro and the ASPEN Agency and now in its twenty-sixth edition, celebrates the identity heritage of Barbagia by opening to the public the historic cortes, the courtyards of traditional homes. Visitors are invited to enjoy an authentic experience in contact with master artisans, age-old recipes handed down through generations and folk performances.

The calendar opens on the weekend of 5 and 6 September in the village of Bitti and unfolds throughout the autumn, touching places such as Oliena, Sarule, Dorgali, Gavoi, Orgosolo and Mamoiada, before the grand finale in Seulo. Each weekend represents a unique opportunity to discover traditional costumes, wood and iron craftsmanship and fine fabrics.
