That Delectable Horror at the Teatro Nuovo in Marmirolo: The Myth of Farinelli Between Baroque Music and Dramaturgy
On the evening of Saturday, 14 November 2026, the stage of Teatro Nuovo di Marmirolo hosts the show That Delicious Horror, written by Sandro Cappelletto and Guido Barbieri.

The performance reconstructs the troubled artistic and biographical story of Carlo Broschi, known as Farinelli, the most celebrated and prodigious voice of eighteenth-century Europe.

Accompanying the staged narrative is a prestigious period-instrument ensemble performing live music by Händel, Broschi, Hasse and Porpora, recreating the fascination and contrasts of Baroque opera.
