At the entrance, a little-known detail: the Chinese ideogram ‘Fô’ (happiness) carved on the keystone of the portal, a gift from the Chinese ambassador who visited in 1879. A symbol of good luck that still welcomes visitors today. A little further on, the Nirvana Fountain from 1872 and the Dragon Fountain with a Japanese bronze purchased in Kyoto tell of the founder’s passion for the Orient.
