From September 19 to 27, 2026, the hamlet of Panicarola, in the municipality of Castiglione del Lago, will once again celebrate the ancient Madonna del Busso festival, a religious and popular recurrence whose origins date back to the mid-19th century.
The festival blends moments of community devotion with a packed calendar of recreational events: book presentations, art exhibitions, children’s playgrounds, and evening music shows with live orchestras. Food stands serve recipes from the rural lake tradition, including arrosticini, grilled lamb, and specialties from the Val di Chiana and Lake Trasimeno.
The grand finale is marked by the traditional, spectacular fireworks display that lights up the Umbrian countryside and draws visitors from all around.
