From September 18 to 27, 2026, the picturesque riverside village of Pretola, on the doorstep of Perugia, hosts the traditional Canaiola Festival, set against the enchanting backdrop of the historic Medieval Tower along the Tiber River.
The undisputed star of the event is Canaiola, the celebrated sweet red wine of Perugia’s rural tradition, perfect with anise doughnuts, roasts, torta al testo, and Umbrian specialties prepared by the local festival committee’s food stands.
The evening program includes live music, tribute band concerts, and cultural events that bring the whole local community together.
