The evocative Tavolara Pavilion in Sassari hosts the prestigious retrospective Liliana Cano. The Fire Within, an extraordinary monographic exhibition dedicated to one of the most intense and original figures of twentieth-century Sardinian art.
The exhibition, with free admission, is open from July 10 to September 20, 2026 and is curated by Davide Mariani in collaboration with the Liliana Cano Archive and the Municipality of Sassari.
The exhibition path brings together over one hundred paintings, historical photographs and archival documents never exhibited before. Visitors can immerse themselves in the core themes of the artist’s production: the faces and rituals of the agro-pastoral rural world, traditional festivals, the sacred and mythological dimension, up to the vibrant portrait of femininity and daily life between the island and Provence.
A must-see cultural tribute to rediscover the chromatic energy and expressive force of an extraordinary artist.
