The majestic setting of Palazzo Strozzi in Florence opens its doors to an extraordinary international exhibition focused on the expressiveness and symbolic value of the sculptural fragment through the centuries.
Through exceptional loans from leading museums around the world, the exhibition traces a fascinating dialogue that brings together artifacts from Egyptian and Greek classical civilization with sculptural masterpieces by Renaissance and modern masters such as Michelangelo, Antonio Canova, and Auguste Rodin, through to contemporary pioneers. The itinerary, completed by a site-specific installation in the Renaissance courtyard, reflects on the fate of matter amid historical fractures, restorations, and new poetic perspectives.
